Meet Meagan Guthrie

I’m running to stay on Ludlow City Council because Ludlow deserves stability, transparency, accessibility, and a more collaborative, solutions-focused approach to local government.

I believe deeply in this community, and I know we can move forward together through collaboration, clear communication, and a shared commitment to putting Ludlow first.

I would be honored to earn your support and vote for Ludlow City Council!

Meagan's Story

Meagan has had the privilege of calling Ludlow home since November 2019, where she lives with her husband, Gil, and their black lab, Xoey. As a Northern Kentucky native and a graduate of Walton-Verona High School, Meagan has always valued the unique spirit of small, tight-knit communities. Ludlow’s walkability, its small-town feel, local shops and restaurants, affordability, and proximity to Cincinnati made it the perfect place to plant roots and build a future.

Meagan is a proud alumna of Xavier University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree through the Philosophy, Politics, and the Public Honors Program and a Master’s degree in Private Interest and the Public Good. Meagan's academic and professional foundation is built on public policy, partnerships, and community engagement. Throughout her career, Meagan has worked across diverse groups, perspectives, and institutions to bridge divides, solve complex challenges, and bring people together around shared goals.

Professionally, Meagan has spent her career leading large-scale public health and safety initiatives, building nationally recognized coalitions, and driving innovative, community-centered solutions. She has overseen multidisciplinary teams, coordinated collaborative partnerships across government and nonprofit sectors, and managed major public investments that strengthen prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts. Her work has supported programs ranging from diversion and outreach initiatives to countywide strategies that improve the wellbeing of families and neighborhoods.

Over the course of her career, Meagan has secured tens of millions of dollars in federal and state funding to advance community health, safety, and quality-of-life initiatives. Her leadership has been recognized nationally, leading to presentations before federal policymakers, invitations to speak at major national conferences, and opportunities to advise on emerging best practices. She has received multiple awards for her impact and public service, including national leadership honors and recognition as one of the region’s top young professionals.

Meagan is a volunteer and community advocate. She is actively engaged in Ludlow as a frequent supporter of local small businesses, a member of Wesley United Methodist Church on Oak Street, and a dedicated volunteer with Blood Cancer United.

In September 2025, Meagan was appointed to fill a vacancy on City Council, where she quickly identified inefficiencies and gaps in process that limit the City’s ability to operate effectively. Ludlow has experienced significant turnover in the past year, and combined with longstanding conflicts and competing personalities, this has slowed progress and created frustration for residents. Meagan believes our community deserves stability, professionalism, and a local government focused squarely on moving Ludlow forward, not on personal politics.

Meagan's approach is simple: put Ludlow first, build coalitions instead of divisions, create transparent and efficient processes, and ensure the City is accessible and accountable to the people it serves. Meagan is running for Ludlow City Council because she believes we can strengthen what makes our community special while planning responsibly for its future.

Ludlow is at an important moment in its history. With collaboration, clear communication, and a shared vision, we can ensure our city continues to thrive, while honoring the character and charm that make it home.
